In the years 2019-2023, I worked on shots for the trailer and the film ‘BOYS’ – another film production by BreakThru Films.
“Chłopi” film by the director duo DK (Dorota Kobiela) and Hugh Welchman is another full-length animated painting.
The film is based on the novel of the same title by Władysław Reymont and shows life in the countryside at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
In this production I worked as a supervisor during the training of painters for the project, an animator and a painter-designer of the images based on it about Young Poland painting.
The film included about 800 of my paintings, 9 shots painted for the trailer and 5 shots that were included in the film, including a shot based on Józef Chełmoński’s painting ‘The Departure of the Cranes’ and a shot showing the change of the season from autumn to winter.
The film was honored with four awards at the Polish Feature Film Festival. He won the Eagle for the best film music by Łukasz Rostowski (L.U.C) and the Audience Award at the Polish Film Awards. He also became the Polish candidate for the Oscar in 2023.
